Corelli Concerto Grosso No. 1 in D major
Elgar Serenade for Strings
Grieg Holberg Suite
Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings

Soloists of the London Philharmonic Orchestra

A Serenade can be many things – a love song, a melody to relax to, or just something that makes you feel like you’re outdoors on a summer day and singing with happiness. Elgar knew that, and Tchaikovsky did too: their Serenades for Strings simply brim over with melody, freshness and warmth. They’re the best kind of popular classics: we love playing them, and you love hearing them! And today, we’ve got a pair of delightful bonus items, too: Corelli’s dazzling baroque concerto, and Grieg’s Holberg Suite – an irresistibly playful take on the 18th century, by one of music’s all-time masters of melody.
