Bigger and Quicker Go Fast Speed Days Race Back to Eastbourne
5 August 2008

Go Fast Speed Days are back with a vengeance for 2008 and promise extreme speeds of 60mph as downhill skateboarders, luge racers, inline skaters and gravity bikers race around the all new super fast road at Beachy Head.
Last year's inaugural Go Fast Speed Days event proved a real winner with more than 100 riders from all over the world heading to Eastbourne to take part in the first ever UK leg of the World Downhill Skateboarding Championships. This year the International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) World Cup event is set to be even better as racers hit speeds never reached before on the brand new resurfaced Beachy Head road when the event returns from 12-14 September.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "Go Fast Speed Days was hugely popular in 2007 and the event was praised by competitors and spectators alike, who all loved the exciting setting on the twists and turns of Beachy Head. With the newly resurfaced road promising to be super fast and extremely grippy, this year's event will place Eastbourne firmly on the downhill athletics map and cement its reputation as a fantastic location for extreme sports."
Completely FREE to spectators, this year the event has been extended to take place over three days and riders will be put through their paces in five categories including Downhill Skateboard, Classic Luge, Street Luge, Downhill In-Line and Gravity Bike.
Director of Go Fast Sports UK, Kris Yule said "Go Fast Speed Days is a great event giving both the world's best and local novice riders the chance to experience the thrill of gravity racing. The newly resurfaced road will mean faster speeds for the riders and more action for the spectators."
Brand new evening free-ride runs are being introduced for 2008, opening the event up to spectators to try their hand at the world's most dangerous gravity sports race.
For those that want to do more than just cheer on the participants, adrenaline-junkies can take to the hill themselves and whizz around the sharp corners and high-speed straights on the course that runs from Beachy Head Pub towards Birling Gap.
There are still places left for racers to book their place to compete at Eastbourne's newest event and compete alongside some of the world's top riders.
