Online Tickets Soar for Eastbourne Beer Festival
17th September 2008

Since going on sale in July, more than 500 tickets have been sold online through the town's official tourism website, VisitEastbourne.com's E-shop. With festival goers looking forward to sampling more than 100 real ales, including some local brews, over 120 bottled beers from around the world, plus wines, ciders and perries, as well as foot-stomping entertainment, tickets are flying out the door fast for the biggest Beer Festival in the South East.
Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Cllr Steve Wallis said "Wow, ticket sales are really going well for Eastbourne Beer Festival and it's testament to the great reputation the event has built up over the past six years. A firm favourite in Eastbourne's events calendar, festival fans can even taste beers made on their doorstep from Beachy Head Brewery!"
Last year's event saw a sell-out year with tickets completely sold out on Friday and Saturday night, with Friday night selling out well before the event.
Attracting more than 3,500 visitors across the three days, Eastbourne Beer Festival served more than 11,500 pints last year and is looking to continue its success this year when it returns from 9-11 October.
Beer enthusiasts can look forward to sampling the likes of Beachy Head's Legless Rambler, Wolf's Granny Wouldn't Like It and Wyre Valley's Piddle in the Cold at this year's Festival.
Good old pub grub will be on the menu throughout the three day event too and the festival opens each evening, with a special daytime session on the Saturday which includes a Brewery tasting and talk from the hugely popular Miles Jenner, Head Brewer of Harveys.
Plus there'll be musical entertainment from Big Al Boogie Woogie and soul band, ER Riley on Thursday; Friday will see The Tar Babies who play music by the Beatles, the Kinks, the Small Faces and all the great sixties bands, and Lackadaisy, a Gypsy Swing act; and then Saturday plays out the festival to the sounds of the Oompah Brass Band, Chicago Blues with Red Jackson, and an acoustic set from Marcella Aldous in the evening.
Beer Festival tickets are still available to buy online from VisitEastbourne's E-shop as well as from Eastbourne Box Office on 01323 412000.
